Climbing

We organise climbing tours and courses

and will tailor them to our customers’ needs and wishes.
If you are used to lead climbing on crags, you may be interested in taking on multi-pitch routes or traditional climbing. Or are you an experienced hiker and have seen a peak to conquer that requires ropes? We can sort most things out!

Summer climbing

• Rock climbing, from 10-metre routes to dozens of pitches
• Mountain climbing with ropes and other necessary equipment

Winter climbing

• With ice axes and crampons
• Can be demanding, but you don’t have to be an expert to get started.

Recommended climbing tours:

• Stetind, normal route. Full-day tour with one grade 4+ climbing leg at the end.
• Vågakallen, north face. Full-day tour with a lot of easy (grade 4+) climbing.
• Gollisegga. Ridge climbing route between two glaciers in Lyngen. Physically demanding full day’s Alpine climbing at grade 3+.
• Kuglhornet, eastern ridge. Exposed climbing tour on fine granite, grade 5+.
• Stetind: Vestveggen and Vesteggen. Demanding, long route on fine granite, grade 6.

Note: grades are on the Nordic scale.

Examples of courses:

• Traditional climbing on multi-pitch routes in Lofoten. Four days, 1–4 participants.
• Basic course in ice climbing in Lyngen. Two days, 1–6 participants.
• Safety and first aid for climbers. One day, 1–6 participants.

Experience the best of Northern Norway

Northern Norway offers excellent opportunities for ski touring, and with our local knowledge you will reach the most untouched slopes. Lyngen is a popular destination during high season, and for good reason, but it also contains many pearls that are known only to a few.

First-rate tours can also be found on the islands of Lofoten and Senja, not to mention the area surrounding Narvik. Many peaks, gorges and slopes are as yet undocumented, which gives you the feeling of being a true explorer. Who knows, you may make the first ascent of a peak!

Destinations

Lyngen

A ski touring paradise through March, April and May. Fantastic opportunities for ice climbing during the period of darkness from December to late March. The landscape is Alpine, with many glaciers, fabulous ridges and peaks suited to Alpine climbing all year round. In the summer there are outstanding opportunities for mountain biking and kayaking or canoeing, not to mention summer skiing.

Tromsø and Kvaløya

Home, among other things, to one of Europe’s toughest north faces! Multiple options for climbing and skiing.

Senja

A true adventure island, with a lot of untouched nature. A fantastic place for journeys of discovery in all disciplines, year round.

Lofoten Islands

Lofoten is best-known for its summer climbing, but the archipelago also offers opportunities for canoeing and kayaking, winter climbing and skiing.

Narvik and Skjomen

The Skjomdalen valley feels like a genuine wilderness and offers opportunities for several-day tours from one wilderness hut to the next. Narvik has a ski lift on which to rest your weary legs.

Stetind and Efjord

The area south of the former navvy town of Narvik is home to mountaineering treasures, fabulous rock climbing and mountain formations that are downright architectural.
